UPDATE: The adidas Originals Continental 80 Finally Gets a Release Date

Three Stripes brings back the OG silhouette.

UPDATE: adidas has confirmed that the Continental 80 will drop on June 21. An earlier version of this article reported that this silhouette is called the Rascal. It has since been announced that the official name of the shoe is the Continental 80.

Breathing new life into its OG Continental silhouette, adidas will be reworking the classic model into a revised iteration dubbed the Continental 80. If the shoe looks familiar, sneakerheads might notice some striking similarities to the YEEZY Powerphase that has released in three different colorways since last year. However, make no mistake – this is indeed an OG shoe and Three Stripes has made the right choice in bringing it back. It truly is a minimalist masterpiece.

For the forthcoming release, the Continental 80 will be available in two colorways: white and off-white. On both versions to offset the starkness of the blank canvas leather upper is a single dual-toned stripe running across the side panel. Rendered in both navy and red, the overall color palette of the trainer emphasizes the vintage nature of the design. Rounding off the look is adidas Trefoil branding along the tongue tag, heel tab and eyelet section.

The adidas Continental 80 is slated to drop on June 21 at retailers like London’s Pam Pam for £85 GBP (approx. $114 USD). You can browse through both colorways in the gallery above.
