Nike's Satin Blazer Mid Is Inspired by Varsity Jackets – and It's Only for Girls
A nostalgic must-have.
Nike’s Blazer Mid has been a popular silhouette ever since its debut way back in the ’70s. Recently, it’s become available in many colorful iterations and has also been the subject of collaborations with Serena Williams and Virgil Abloh. Now, it’s just been unveiled in a show-stopping “Red Crush” colorway that’s perfect for brightening up any summer ‘fit.
The premium kicks have a slick satin upper in that full-on red tone, which is matched by the laces and large Swoosh on the lateral side. The sporty silhouette is inspired by varsity jackets, which are referenced in the terry cloth details on the tongue and in a striped pattern on the heel tab. Nike’s NSW logo appears in cursive text embroidered upon the tongue too, bringing an additional retro element to the sneakers. Rounding out the look is a crisp white midsole and as an added bonus, these shoes are a women’s-only exclusive.
