EXCLUSIVE: A Closer Look At Off White™'s Star-Studded SS19 "Track & Field" Show
Virgil Abloh showcases his luxe take on women’s sportswear.
Off White™‘s latest runway show presented during Paris Fashion Week was a surefire hit. The range was pinpointed by athleisure separates reminiscent of Virgil Abloh‘s previous collaborative capsule with Serena Williams. The uncanny pairing of tulle with a T-shirt actually went down the runway. Another pairing which showcased the mixing of high fashion with everyday wear was seen in the form of a blue gown worn with his forthcoming Off White™ x Nike React Vapor Street Flyknit sneakers. Vogue confirmed these trainers are named the Waffle Racer which is emblazoned in black font on the silhouette. After the fittings, we were granted a full backstage look at the SS19 collection.
Abloh’s ability to take a theme and run with it is not be missed here. Backstage, the range seemed to come in two separate variations. While one part of the 47-look collection included luxe sportswear which the designer is famous for creating, other pieces rode the fine line between black tie attire and being wedding-appropriate. The sporty separates were unsurprisingly riddled with Nike branding and even a neon yellow snakeskin pattern. Separately, the fancier pieces were crafted with lush materials in mostly white. Kaia Gerber‘s branded knit and cotton top was also a striking look which was a standout in the SS19 collection.
