Huawei Teams up With Gentle Monster to Create Smart Glasses

The future is here.

Korean eyewear label Gentle Monster has teamed up with tech giant Huawei to produce a new series of smart glasses. The partnership will feature a series of different frames and designs, and was announced at Huawei’s #RewriteTheRules event in Paris.

Gentle Monster CEO Hankook Kim announced that the “Once Upon a Future” capsule collecction that was previously released has served as an inspiration behind the design elements of the upcoming collaboration. The features of the hi-tech frames include answering phone calls by tapping the arm of the glasses, which will sport directional mics ad speakers as well as a 2,200mAh battery charged by using the shades’ case.

As of now, details are sparse as to what the release date will be as well as how much the futuristic shades will cost, but the collaboration is speculated to arrive in July 2019.
