Take an Exclusive Look at the 'KAWS: ALONG THE WAY' Exhibition in Hong Kong
A peek into the artist’s work over the past decade.
Following up on the previously launched KAWS: HOLIDAY floating art character in Hong Kong, KAWS has unveiled a stunning solo exhibition in the city just in time for Art Basel Hong Kong.
The major survey titled “KAWS: ALONG THE WAY” is released to the public on behalf of the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation and curated by Germano Celant to showcase the artwork created by the artist over the last decade. In total there are 37 works in the exhibit made up of design figures, paintings, sculptures and large form objects that are in Hong Kong for the first time.
Strategically placed in chronological and theme order at the indoor and outdoor spaces of PMQ, staple pieces such as the 18-feet-tall sculpture – ALONG THE WAY (2015), the 8-feet-tall pink ACCOMPLICE and a variety of creations from the KAWS’ YOU series. Lastly, the (HOCA) Foundation will be linking up with partner schools of the St James Settlement Charity to host KAWS-focused workshops created to introduce children to the exhibition and the creativity surrounding the world-renowned artist.
