Noah Centineo Plays the Dream Boyfriend in New Rom-Com 'The Perfect Date' — Watch the Trailer Here
The Netflix movie also stars ‘Riverdale’ actress, Camila Mendes.
A new Netflix romantic-comedy starring breakout star Noah Centineo is on its way to your screen. After To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, the actor (who’s often crowned as “the Internet’s boyfriend”) once again plays the role of a charming high school student in the upcoming film, The Perfect Date.
In the new movie, Centineo portrays Brooks Rattigan, a student that dreams to go to Yale but is lacking of an outstanding extracurricular activity as well as money. When stumbled upon an opportunity to make some cash by standing in as someone’s date at a semi-formal, Brooks immediately decides to give that a try. He meets the self-assured Celia Lieberman (Laura Marano) at his first paid gig, and after succeeding in posing as her boyfriend, Brooks realizes that he may have a natural talent for the job.
With the help of his friend Murph (Odiseas Georgiadis), Brooks creates an app called The Stand-In that sells himself as the ideal date for just about any event. “I’m offering my services as a chaperone, for whatever it is that girls want,” Brooks speaks of this idea excitedly in the first trailer of the movie. “Every date would be custom-built. They could pick my personality, my interest, whether I’m a listener or a talker.” His booming business eventually leads him to meeting the beautiful, private school student Shelby Pace, played by Riverdale star Camila Mendes.
