Alexander Wang Is Launching Another Collection With Uniqlo
“Airing Soon.”
Last year Alexander Wang teamed up with Japanese label Uniqlo for an exclusive collaboration which featured fashionable and streetwear ready underwear pieces crafted from the brand’s signature HeatTech material. Now, the designer has revealed that another collaboration is on the way.
Posting on Instagram, Alexander Wang teased the upcoming range with a photo of him with hair blowing across his face, captioned with “Airing Soon.” The accompanying hashtag #coolasair was also included, leading us to think that the collaboration may involve Uniqlo’s hi-tech materials and cooling fabrics. Having previously collaborated with everyone from H&M, Beats by Dre, Evian and more, we already know that Wang always brings his unique vision to any project.
This time around, the capsule takes on a Spring/Summer friendly range of underwear and functional pieces. The second partnership will be crafted from Uniqlo’s AIRism fabric, and will feature everything from bras and tops to biker shorts and tight tank-tops. “Working with UNIQLO on the second season of the collaboration, it felt like there was a mutual understanding of not only aesthetics but of each other’s work ethic,” said Wang about the collaboration, adding that, “Innovation has always been at the forefront of our design and creative process, and functionality serves a huge purpose in the way I and our customers dress. Therefore, through the influence of innovation, technology and functionality, the special AIRism collection was born.”
The range is set to debut on April 11, and will be available across selected Uniqlo locations world-wide. Take a look at the lookbook in the gallery above.
