Our Favorite Beauty Items Are Reimagined as Sneakers for Air Max Day 2019
Peep the “Gloss Bomb” and “Cloud Paint” colorways.
Nike’s Air Max Day is an annual celebration of the iconic Air Max silhouettes which have defined a generation of footwear. The first Air Max sneaker, the Air Max 1, was released on March 26, 1987 changing the sneaker landscape forever. For Air Max 2019, we’re merging our beauty and sneaker obsession to create new Air Max colorways. Illustrator Marta Ruiz Cerezo reimagines each shoe to have new uppers, midsoles and packaging inspired by our favorite makeup and self-care items.
Leading the pack is the Air Max 1 which is reimagined as a bottle of Chanel‘s iconic N°5 Eau de Parfum. A subtle yellow hue and gray are used to mimic the feel of the elegant perfume bottle. The Air Max 93 and Air Max 97 are remade into Fenty Beauty‘s cult-favorite Gloss Bomb lip gloss and Glossier‘s Cloud Paint blush respectively. Both of these colorways are just what we need for the spring. The Air Max 95 gets special treatment transforming into Lush’s “God Is a Woman” bath bomb. Completing the lineup is the Air Max 98 which is dressed up in sweet symbols to reflect the aesthetic of KKW Fragrance‘s “Hearts” line.
Peep each of the recreations above and be sure to keep up with other Air Max Day news. The On Air winners Gaby Serrano and Cash Ru presented their custom colorways and other spring hues have started to sprout up.
