



KAWS Announces Retail Collection for Upcoming Exhibition, Featuring a Pink 'GONE' Companion Figure

Update (September 11, 2019): KAWS recently teased an upcoming black GONE Companion sculpture for his upcoming art show titled “COMPANIONSHIP IN THE AGE OF LONELINESS” at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. Now, he has just revealed a pink and grey iteration for the exhibition.
Along with the teaser, KAWS and the NGV have announced that the artist will be designing a full retail collection for the gallery’s design store, NGV Design. Collection details are sparse but you can take a look below at the newly revealed figure.

Following a teaser just hours before the official announcement, KAWS took to Instagram and unveiled his new anticipated GONE Companion vinyl figure. The design of the American artist’s collectible statuette has been inspired by a large-scale model of the same name with his Companion character carrying the ‘BFF’ mascot covered in all-black and white detailing.
The figure will debut during KAWS’ exhibition titled “COMPANIONSHIP IN THE AGE OF LONELINESS” at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne on September 20. Stay tuned for more details to come and check out the GONE Companion vinyl figure in the gallery above.
