Stella McCartney and Hunter Debut Sustainable & Vegan Wellington Boots

Black, grey or green?

With sustainable fashion on the rise, Stella McCartney and Hunter have collaborated and created a new vegan rubber boot. Initially making its debut at the Winter 2019 runway show in Paris, the shoe piece combines the English fashion designer’s sustainable initiatives, as seen on her own brand, with the iconic Wellington boot incorporating naturally-sourced rubber and an innovative material called Yulex™.

The natural rubber used to make the new boot has been sustainably sourced from certified forests in Guatemala. The silhouette’s Yulex™ material has been used to replace traditional synthetic rubber which helps generate 80 percent less climate-altering carbon dioxide. The design itself features sculptural soles and treads that give the same durability and performance as the original Wellington boot.

The Stella McCartney x Hunter Wellington Boot comes in the colors black, grey and green. It retails for £320 GBP (approximately $395 USD) which is now available at Stella McCartney’s website, hunterboots.com on September 16 and key global stockists on September 18.

In other sustainable fashion news, these are the 32 fashion brands that signed a pact to reduce environmental impact.
