Tom Ford Beauty Launches New Unisex Skincare Line
Meet Tom Ford Research.
Tom Ford Beauty‘s products are a staple in many women’s makeup and skincare bags, including Khloe Kardashian, celebrity makeup artist Nikki DeRoest and more. It makes sense that now the beauty brand is expanding its range with a skincare line — Tom Ford Research. Tom Ford released the following statement about his new expansion:
“My vision is to merge breakthrough skin science with true luxury, to create transformative skincare regardless of skin type or gender. This is the reason I established Tom Ford Research. Working closely with a team of scientists, we develop what is truly remarkable and that which delivers undeniable visible results.”
Backed by scientific research, the unisex skincare line focuses on three main ingredients — caffeine, White Porcelain Cacao and Gyokuro. Through the combination of in-vitro and ex-vitro studies, Tom Ford researchers have looked into the science of skin energy and determined that caffeine helps with boosting hydration and skin brightness. They observed that caffeine promotes the movement of the skin’s sodium ions, which act as carriers of natural energy. The final results were extreme skin hydration. To add to the research success, the findings were presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Conference and are being prepared for publication in a scientific journal.
The other two ingredients are also key to the skincare range. White Porcelain Cacao is a rare variety that not only has caffeine content but also contains polyphenols. The ingredient is full of antioxidants and protects the skin from chemical damage. The last key ingredient, Gyokuro, is a type of Japanese green tea that has soothing properties to help irritated skin.
Currently, the Tom Ford Research collection has two products. The first product is the Serum Concentrate. Made with highly potent ingredients, the serum has glycolic and lactic acids to smooth out skin, as well as peptides that reduce lines and wrinkles. The second item is a Crème Concentrate that contains algae extract to soothe stressed skin and hyaluronic acid for deep hydration. The face cream comes with a small spatula for hygienic purposes and both items are meant to be used both day and night.
The Tom Ford Research Serum Concentrate retails for $2,800 HKD (approximately $357 USD) and the Crème Concentrate for $3,500 HKD (approximately $446 USD). You can find the products online at retailers such as Lane Crawford and at select Tom Ford Beauty stores and counters starting today.
