The Latest Apple Watch Series 5 Features Exclusive Nike and Hermès Styles

Here’s your first look at the new designs.

As Apple‘s iPhone event happened today, a new slew of information regarding the tech brand’s latest offerings has arrived. Part of the announcements featured technology updates on the latest Apple Watch Series 5, as well as revealing exclusive Apple Watch Nike and Apple Watch Hermès styles.

The Apple Watch Series 5 features new Always-On Retina Display technology that has been optimized to dim when not in use and to brighten when the user raises or taps the watch. Along with a new low-temperature, low-power display, efficient power management integrated circuit and ambient light sensor, this allows the watch to minimize power usage and last for an 18-hour day. New navigation features include a built-in compass and an updated Maps app.

For those who travel, Apple has made international emergency calling available on the new watch regardless of the user’s cellular plan, and there’s even a fall detection mode that will automatically place an emergency call if the watch detects the user has taken a hard fall and is motionless for about a minute. In terms of health-related updates, the watch features a Cycle Tracking app for menstrual cycles and a Noise app that shows whether sounds levels in a certain environment, such as concerts or sports events, can have a negative impact on your hearing. Jeff Williams, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer said:

“We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6. The seamless integration of new hardware and software delivers an enhanced experience that makes it even easier to stay active and connected to the people and information users care about.”

Buyers will have a more personalized experience at the Apple Watch Studio, which gives the opportunity to select a custom band and case. New case material made of titanium is featured, and you can also choose from gold, silver, space black and space grey stainless steel and aluminum cases. A new minimalist white ceramic case is also included in the collection.

Earlier this year, Apple debuted new Hermès and Nike watch bands, and now, the tech giant is teaming up with the two brands again. The Apple Watch Nike features a new watch face inspired by Swoosh’s windbreaker jacket design. New colorways of the Nike Sport Band and reflective Nike Sport Loop are releasing, which you can take a look at in the gallery above. Apple Watch Hermès’ offerings include a new color-blocked band in Della Cavalleria print and a gradient watch face.

The Apple Watch Series 5 GPS starts at $399 USD, and GPS + Cellular iteration starts at $499 USD. Both watches, as well as the Apple Watch Nike and Apple Watch Hermès, are available to order starting today in select regions, and they are set to launch in stores on September 20.
