Watch How Dior's Hand-Embroidered SS20 Floral Motifs Were Created
From sketches to the runway.
Dior‘s Spring/Summer 2020 runway show helmed by Maria Grazia Chiuri at Paris Fashion Week was filled with a myriad of floral motifs and stunning dresses. The newest presentation which was garden-inspired payed homage to Catherine Dior and was staged in a forest-like space filled with trees, flowers and assorted ethereal materials.
In an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, Dior’s atelier shares the process of what it took to create the floral designs. The clip presents the meticulous drawing and painting process that took place ahead of the presentation. The handpicked wildflowers are shown as paintings and then as patterns after they’re blown up. The floral patterns are then stitched into an actual piece from the SS20 range. Later in the video, Chiuri appears with models as they try on different looks from the collection.
