'Stranger Things' Gets Renewed for Season 4 — Watch the First Teaser Here
“We’re not in Hawkins anymore.”
Netflix hit Stranger Things has officially been renewed for a fourth season. The announcement came nearly three months after its 4th of July-themed Season 3 premiered on the streaming platform.
Warning: This post contains spoilers.
The show has taken to social media to reveal the first teaser for Season 4. In the short video, we see the familiar Stranger Things title sequence against a backdrop of the Upside Down. While a “Welcome to Hawkins” sign can be seen in the background, the clip concludes with a cryptic message that reads, “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” With the Byers and Eleven moving away from the troubled town towards the end of Season 3, could this mean that the upcoming season will take place in a world beyond Hawkins?
In addition to the announcement of Season 4, Variety reports that the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, have signed “a multi-year overall deal with Netflix to create films and television series” other than Stranger Things.
In a statement, Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos writes,
“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love. We can’t wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down.”
