Baby Phat Teases An Upcoming Cosmetics Line on Instagram

An anticipated comeback.

After making a big and bold comeback at the end of last year with the Holiday 2019 collection, it’s looking like Kimora Lee Simmons‘ brand Baby Phat will also be releasing its own make-up line after a teaser was posted to the brand’s Instagram account less than 24-hours ago.

Designed solely for women, Baby Phat blew up in the early 2000s, popular for its mega-glam vibes and that instantly-recognizable cat logo, usually found on the jean pocket of the derrière. Unfortunately for the brand, Baby Phat went out of fashion at the dawn of the new decade, along with – and because of – the aesthetic that it championed throughout the era that preceded it.

While the resurgence of Baby Phat with the Holiday 2019 collection is great news, it’s possible that we may need to start preparing for a Baby Phat double whammy. Alongside the velour tracksuits, hoodies, T-shirts and knitwear, the brand could also be pushing a collection of cosmetics to sit alongside its apparel line. The IG post shows Kimora patting her face with cosmetic powder from a bright, gold casing, accompanied by a caption that reads “Working on something secret… can you guess?”.
