Chanel's SS20 Makeup Collection Is a "Desert Dream"
New eye, face and lip products arrive in dusty pinks and cool browns.
Chanel has introduced its first makeup collection of 2020, a range of dusky shades dubbed “Desert Dream.” Inspired by sand dunes, sacred cave paintings and lunar plains, Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer Lucia Pica‘s newest creations update a muted color palette with dusty pinks and cool browns in matte and iridescent finishes. “I was looking for something poetic, like a memory – a natural filter that makes everything look dreamier,” Pica said.
Two creamy eyeshadow sticks in “Contour Brun” (coffee bean brown) and “Contour Mauve” can be used as liner or bases for complementing shades featured in two new Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow palettes. “Elemental” is a collection of matte browns while “Warm Memories” ranges from deep rosewood to peachy rose. Four metallic liquid eyeshadows add a pop of shimmer in frosty pearl, apricot and mauve.
Chanel’s Rouge Allure lipstick is updated in “Rouge Brûlant” and “Endless,” an orange-pink and brown-pink, respectively. “Éclat du Désert,” a peach powder highlighter embossed with the outline of a sand dune accompanies two Baume Essential glow sticks in three colors ranging from transparent shimmer to “Golden Light.” Lastly, new nail polish shades include cool mauve “Daydream,” and understated lavender “Mirage.”
The Chanel Spring/Summer 2020 “Desert Dream” makeup collection ranges from $70 to $36 USD at Chanel’s website.
