Street Style at Copenhagen Fashion Week FW20 Gave Us a Taste of Spring
Florals and pastels stood apart in a sea of neutrals.
As Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020 progresses from Europe to the United States (next up: New York Fashion Week), more eye-catching street style is providing us with major inspiration. In Copenhagen — which aims to host a zero-waste Fashion Week by 2022 — showgoers looked forward to spring with cheerful pastels and and floral prints. Baby pink, light blue and canary yellow were all popular color choices, appearing alongside statement pieces by Jacquemus, Balenciaga and Gucci. Florals arrived in the form of embroidered tops, embellished shoes and bold all-over prints.
On the flip side, men’s looks maintained a subdued vibe in greys and browns. In a similar somber vein, one attendee paid tribute to Kobe Bryant, whose sudden death shocked the world when news of his passing broke earlier this week. Both men and women favored tailored outerwear and separates that saw oversized blazers, collared overcoats and wide leg trousers in neutral tones.
