Hyein Seo's FW19 Collection Sees the Graduands Turn Into Graduates
Dubbed “Save Yourself.”
South Korean label Hyein Seo has entered the new decade with an updated seasonal collection and accompanying lookbook, this time dubbed the somewhat dark “Save Yourself”.
Known for exploring the definition of contemporary womenswear – especially within streetwear’s domain – the designer is once more releasing a collection that merges the lines between masculine and feminine in both an astute and undisciplined manner, adding a new visual dimension to the meaning of unisex.
The lookbook is a lens into the lives of Seoul‘s Class of 2019: a handful of South Korea‘s talents to watch as well as faces from Hyein Seo’s atelier team. The group takes to their school’s corridors, basketball courts, and staircases to truant and get into some very mischievous business, all while wearing apparel and accessories from the brand’s FW19 collection.
“Save Yourself” features pleated skirts, oversized dress shirts and cropped blazers layered with cozy outwear pieces, further complemented with accessories such as a scarf bag, bolo tie, and protective sleeve. Hints of rebellion within this collection are simply too palpable to deny.
