Timex's Camper Watches Receive Colorful Illustrations From Tokyo-Based Artist, Face
Highlighting the charm of checking the time on an analog timepiece.
Following its tortoise shell collaboration with BEAMS, Timex has now joined forces with Tokyo-based illustrator Face and Japan‘s Anna Magazine for a set of analog-style watches. The collaboration highlights the charm of checking the time on the wearer’s wrist, rather than looking into phone screens.
Printed onto the face of the Camper silhouette, the artist’s drawings add a fun touch with eyes and smiley motifs. The numbers on the dial – arriving in yellow, pink, orange and black – are roughly sketched in a crayon-like texture, along with the three partner’s names. Googly eyes are drawn here and there for a whimsical look. Rounding off the design, the 36mm-wide timepiece sports a contrasting black lug and strap.
