Ariana Grande Earns Her Fifth No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart With 'positions'
Snagging first place a week after her record’s debut.
Ariana Grande officially claimed her fifth No. 1 album earlier this week on the Billboard 200 chart. The Grammy Award-winning songstress dropped positions late last month featuring 14 songs, as well as collaborations with Doja Cat, The Weeknd and Ty Dolla $ign.
According to Billboard, this is Grande’s “third No. 1 in less than two years and three months — the fastest accumulation of three No. 1 proper studio albums ever by a woman.” For those who aren’t familiar, Billboard gathers its data on the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. “based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units.” Units comprise of “album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).” positions debuted with 174,000 equivalent album units, 129,000 SEA units, 42,000 album sales and 3,000 TEA units. Earning the second spot is Trippie Redd with Pegasus, followed by Sam Smith with Love Goes, Busta Rhymes with ELE 2: The Wrath of God and Queen Naija with missunderstood.
