EXO and SuperM's KAI Makes Solo Debut With "Mmmh" Music Video and Mini Album

Marking a new milestone for the K-pop star’s career.

Following up on his work with SM Entertainment‘s exciting K-pop project SuperM, EXO‘s KAI has finally made his debut as a solo artist. Kicking off with a concept visual titled ”FILM : KAI,” the musician has dropped a music video for “Mmmh” earlier today.

The two releases lead up to KAI’s first-ever mini album. The eponymous record features a total of six tunes, including the title track “Mmmh” alongside “Ride or Die,” “Nothing On Me,” “Hello Stranger,” “Reason” and “Amnesia.” Sharing the same pronunciation as the artist’s name, the Chinese character (meaning “to open” or “start”) serves as the title of the album, referencing KAI’s foray into his solo artistry.

In “FILM : KAI,” the star showcases a series of choreography to his new songs in eye-catching outfits from labels like Casablanca, Marine Serre and POST ARCHIVE FACTION. For the “Mmmh” music video, he shares striking looks featuring an ombré mullet and colorful garments as he dances to the sensual track. The visuals end with the singer standing on top of a building with a neon-lit city serving as the background.

Watch the music video for “Mmmh” above. KAI’s first-ever solo album KAI is slated to drop at 6 p.m. KST (4 a.m. EST) today.
