'Lilo & Stitch' Is Getting a Live-Action Remake

From ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ director Jon M. Chu.

Over the past few years we’ve seen a handful of Disney remakes, including the live-action takes on classics including The Jungle Book and Lion King. Now, the latest title that has been taken on is Lilo & Stitch, by Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu.

Marking 18 years since the title’s original release, the live-action remake will also be joined by Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich as producers, and Ryan Halprin as executive producer. There’s yet no information as to whether the new take on the classic will be a movie released in theatres or a Disney+ exclusive.

In addition to Lilo & Stitch, Jon M. Chu is also working with Disney on a new Willow series for Disney+. Stay tuned as more information surrounding the release is yet to be revealed.
