Apple's iPhone 12 Mini Is Facing Lock Screen Touch Sensitivity Issues
The device is having trouble recognizing the user’s thumb.
After the release of Apple‘s new iPhone 12 models earlier this month, owners of the Mini have been reporting Lock Screen sensitivity issues on their phones. According to MacRumors, the problem occurs when users try “swiping up from the bottom of the Lock Screen using their thumb to unlock the device, or when pressing the torch or camera buttons on the Lock Screen.”
Reports from Reddit and MacRumors‘ forum state that the device recognizes other fingers better than the thumb and that the phone functions normally once it unlocks. Some users have observed that “the lack of responsiveness could be a conductivity or grounding issue” because others have found that “it resolves itself when the handset is plugged into a wall charger, or when touching the frame without a case.”
Apple has not commented on the matter, but hopefully the tech giant will release an update soon to resolve the problem.
