Telfar, Marine Serre and Pyer Moss Are Among the Hottest Brands of 2020
According to Lyst’s Year in Fashion 2020 report.
It’s officially that time of year again when Lyst compiles all its findings into its Year In Fashion report. According to the global fashion search platform, the breakout brands of 2020 include Marine Serre, Telfar, 1017 ALYX 9SM, Fear of God, Pyer Moss, Casablanca, Martine Rose, Brain Dead, Sunnei and Chinatown Market.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the industry has seen a significant shift in terms of what people choose to wear at home during lockdown or quarantine. Loungewear and lingerie have become this year’s most popular styles and the report has found that Birkenstock, Crocs, UGG and Nike joggers were among the most wanted items. With most spending their time indoors, style moments we see on the Internet have defined the way we shopped over the past few months. From Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement of Telfar to Kamala Harris‘ white pantsuit moment during her acceptance speech, politicians are “becoming the new fashion influencers.”
Finally, based on fast-growing search terms over the last six months, Lyst predicts that there are five brands you need to keep on your radar in 2021. Those labels include Brother Vellies, Paris Georgia, Chopova Lowena, Thebe Magugu and Medea.
