Makeup Artist Pat McGrath Named D.B.E., Dame of the British Empire

Pat McGrath, the UK‘s legendary makeup artist, has been named D.B.E. – Dame of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. Appearing in the Queen’s New Year 2021 Honors List, the MUA joins the likes of Craig David MBE and Toby Jones OBE.
The creative has become one of the most influential in the world of beauty and fashion for more than 25 years. Conceptualizing and executing over 60 ready-to-wear and couture shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris during fashion weeks, McGrath has partnered with brands such as Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and Maison Margiela. She additionally launched her own makeup line Pat McGrath Labs, best known for its pigmented eyeshadows and lipsticks. Most recently, the artist teamed up with Supreme for an unexpected lipstick collaboration that sold out in minutes.
“I am beyond humbled that I have been awarded a Damehood in the Queen’s New Year 2021 Honors List as a D.B.E – Dame of the British Empire for Services to the Fashion and Beauty Industry and Diversity,” Dame McGrath commented in a statement. “I am truly delighted and humbled to be given this wonderful honor. My mother’s obsession with beauty and fashion ignited my passion for this amazing industry and I feel blessed to have the privilege of working with some of the most extraordinary people throughout my career.”
