Take a First Look at Moncler Genius' Collaboration with RIMOWA
A limited-edition suitcase featuring a customizable LED screen.
As announced in early February, Moncler Genius has finally unveiled its collaboration with RIMOWA at Milan Fashion Week alongside the brand’s capsule lineup for the year including labels like JW Anderson, Richard Quinn, 1017 ALYX 9SM and Simone Rocha. The partnership features a limited-edition aluminum suitcase designed based on the luxury luggage brand’s popular Original Cabin model.
Dubbed “Reflection,” the latest arrival is a combination of Moncler‘s engineering expertise and RIMOWA’s functional materials. Arriving in the iconic aluminum material, the suitcase sports a grooved exterior just like most of the suitcase maker’s famous travel items, along with a Moncler badge placed at the front. Matte black handles and corners add contrast to the design, which is accentuated with a ticker-style LED screen showing messages that can be personalized through a mobile app.
“Moncler Genius is a natural fit as it highlights some of RIMOWA’s most enduring values and links the innovative with the timeless. It’s been an exciting opportunity to exchange creative approaches and explore novel ways of integrating technology into modern travel,” the luxury luggage brand’s CEO Alexandre Arnault commented in an official press release. This collaboration between the two houses follows two projects previously introduced in 2014 and 2016.
The RIMOWA x Moncler Genius “Reflection” is slated to launch in limited quantities starting from June this year in RIMOWA and Moncler stores worldwide and at the luggage label’s online store.
