Y-3 Celebrates the Superstar's 50th Anniversary with Two New Designs
Yohji Yamamoto reimagines the iconic silhouette.
Recently releasing a range of heart-embellished sneakers for Valentine’s Day, adidas Originals is continuing its partnership with Yohji Yamamoto on Y-3 to celebrate 50 years of the iconic Superstar sneaker. Paying homage to his favorite adidas shoe, the Japanese designer has brought forth two new iterations of the silhouette.
The iconic footwear is revamped with a revolutionary new tooling system. Dubbed “Y-3 YOHJI STAR” and “Y-3 YOHJI PRO,” the high-top and low-top kicks both arrive in black and white versions. Each shoe sports the Superstar shell-toe along with a bulky midsole, while a Y-3 logo is placed on the tongue. Yohji’s signature runs across the laterals to finish off the design.
