Seoul Fashion Week FW20 Canceled as Coronavirus Cases Rise in South Korea
The biannual fashion week will return for SS21 in October.
Seoul Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020 has been called off due to the recent spike of confirmed coronavirus cases in South Korea. An official representative from the Seoul Metropolitan Government in charge of the biannual fashion week told The Korea Herald:
“We have internally decided to cancel the Fall/Winter 2020 Seoul Fashion Week and will notify the concerned parties of the decision in a few days. However, we will seek ways to support and help designers in Korea by hosting other international design fairs instead.”
Despite the cancelation of the event, the official stated that Seoul Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2021 will still be held in October as planned.
Seoul Fashion Week SS20 was originally scheduled for March 17-21. A couple of local and international designers have already pulled out of the event, while a series of events have also been canceled.
