Chanel Brightens up Paris Fashion Week for FW20

We’ve finally reached the last day of Paris Fashion Week, and first on the schedule is of course Chanel‘s anticipated show. Throughout the week, the ever-growing Coronavirus spread has cast its shadow on PFW, but Virginie Viard brought out looks that made us forget about what was going on, even just for a few minutes.
The Fall/Winter 2020 collection took on casual silhouettes, unlike what we are used to seeing at the luxury fashion house. Everything from cropped tops to elevated sweatpants took the runway, alongside Chanel’s iconic jackets, tailored coats and elegant blouses. New takes on the label’s signature tweed jackets were featured, as well as tops and blazers in the same tweed material, taking the timeless classic and applying it into modern pieces. Cardigans, full-length trench coats and suits were also debuted in the collection, which through-and-through, turned out to be incredibly wearable.
As for accessories, Viard experimented with current trends such as pearls, crafting a signature Chanel quilted bag into a cross-body silhouette, complete with a pearl strap. Additionally, bucket bags and flat clutches were also spotted on the runway, as well as a quilted AirPod case complete with the iconic interlocking C logo. Belts and necklaces also reigned supreme, boasting big and colorful gem stones, gold and silver, and over-sized designs that added an eye-catching and unexpected element to the looks.
