HAY's New Toaster and Electric Kettle Make Stylish Additions To Your Home

The Danish furniture and design company expands its kitchen offering.

Denmark-born furniture and design brand HAY has introduced two new products to its kitchen lineup: the Sowden Toaster and Kettle. An extension of the Sowden by HAY range, made up of reusable bottles, salt and pepper grinders and more home accessories designed by George Sowden, the new releases mark the Scandinavian company’s first foray into electrical appliances.

Staying true to Sowden’s bold and whimsical design aesthetic, the toaster arrives in a sleek trapezium shape, with slanted edges on the top that will help keep toast crumbs out of your kitchen counter. A circular browning dial is placed on the front of the toaster for easy adjustment. The design comes in the three color variations, including color-blocked pastel yellow and blue, as well as light gray for those who prefer a minimalist look.

Joining the release is the Sowden Kettle, which features a similar appearance as the collection’s tea and coffee pots. With a 1.5 liter capacity, the electric kettle is constructed with plastic and stainless steel and is completed with a large, easy-to-grab handle. Choose from light gray, or statement-making colors such as mint green, pastel yellow and a rosy brown hue. Take a look at the full range in the gallery above.

Priced from Kr. 649 DKK (approx. $103 USD) and Kr. 749 DKK (approx. $119 USD) respectively, the Sowden Toaster and Kettle are now available throughout Europe at HAY stockists. For those in the U.S., you can expect to shop the Kettle beginning this September, and the Toaster in winter 2021.
