Parisian Label Virón Is Rethinking Footwear With Plant-Based, Vegan Designs
Providing real solutions to the harmful practices within the fashion industry.
Founded in 2020 by sustainable footwear experts Mats Rombaut and Julian Romer, Virón is the new eco-conscious brand that is rethinking the way that shoes should be made. By thinking outside of what the industry normally dictates, the Paris-based label is instead questioning current standards and providing real solutions to the harmful practices that are rife within the realm of fashion.
The burgeoning brand uses responsible policies by manufacturing and sourcing all of its fabrics and materials locally within Europe. All materials used to construct the shoes are PETA-certified vegan and are plant-based or upcycled materials. Once the shoes are worn down, Virón encourages its consumers to send the shoes back to the brand so that the outsoles can be recycled and thus promote an improved circular production model. Offering silhouettes such as sneakers, mid-tops and boot styles that range from $190 to $280 USD, the eco-minded imprint aims to offer a more accessible price point for sustainable footwear options.
Virón’s first collection is now available on its web store, as well as at select stockists such as SSENSE, LN-CC and Selfridges. You can take a closer look at the full range in the lookbook above.
