JW Anderson Plays With Color and Shape for Fall/Winter 2021
Featuring 37 looks shot by Juergen Teller.
Jonathan Anderson has just revealed his men’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection and women’s pre-fall 2021 range for his eponymous label JW Anderson. Featuring a total of 37 looks, the collection was presented through both physical and digital formats, with a lookbook shot by Juergen Teller.
Playing with shape, color and texture, Jonathan Anderson has created a collection that blurs the divide between menswear and womenswear. With exaggerated and blunt lines combined with soft and gentle materials, the collection takes on a sculptural proportions that also transcends fashion and bridges into wearable art. In the lookbook, British actress and singer Sophie Okonedo CBE appears in the women’s pre-fall range, following Jonathan and Juergen’s love for her performance in the Netflix series Ratched.
For the collection, hair stylist Anthony Turner transformed surplus shearling by dying it, and throughout the range we’re also seeing recognizable pieces like the popular Chain Loafers appear in new colorways and prints. Bright mohair, stiff leather and asymmetrical tailoring bring the collection together and captures JW Anderson’s unique and playful vision.
