NIKI Feels "Split" Between 2 Lives in New Single
The 88rising artist debuts her latest track alongside a cinematic music video.
Fresh off her unforgettable performance at 88rising‘s Head In The Clouds festival earlier this month, NIKI has released a brand new single dubbed “Split.”
Accompanied by a cinematic visual directed by Sean Matsuyama, the track sees the 22-year-old artist’s struggle with feeling split between two worlds and two homes. “I wrote it about having to split myself between Indonesia and LA and feeling like I have to constantly ‘split the difference’/ adapt/ assimilate all the time,” NIKI shares in a press release. “It’s a song about home and identity, or maybe the struggle to find either. It’s very very personal and I hope you guys love it as much as I do.” To the essence of “Split,” the music video showcases NIKI longing for home while physically being in LA.
