Nintendo Announces New Games at Its Direct Event
‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ x ‘Super Mario Bros.,’ ‘Splatoon 3’ and more.
Nintendo hosted its first full-length Direct event on February 17. The electronics and video game company has unveiled a lineup of new titles set to release this year and the next.
Standouts include the Animal Crossing: New Horizons update in collaboration with Super Mario Bros., which will allow players to order themed items like the Super Mushroom and the Question Block starting on March 1. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will be available on July 16 on the Nintendo Switch with smoother and more intuitive controls, as well as improved frame rate and graphics.
Elsewhere, Splatoon 3 will come to the gaming console in 2022. The full-fledged sequel will “introduce various features to the action-shooter series, including weapons such as the bow-weapon, customization options and movement abilities to bring to the returning 4v4 Turf Wars matches,” as per Nintendo’s press release.
