UNIQLO Taps Musée du Louvre for Collaborative UT Collection

Featuring historical masterpieces like the ‘Mona Lisa.’

Following its Spring/Summer 2021 collection with Inès Se La Fressange last month, UNIQLO has unveiled a new range in collaboration with Musée du Louvre in Paris. On top of that, the duo has announced a four-year partnership with the aim to offer a variety of programs to better familiarize the public with the museum‘s iconic masterpieces. Fast Retailing’s Chairman, President and CEO Tadashi Yanai said in a press release:

“I am honored and excited to be partnering with the world-renowned Musée du Louvre. This is a longtime dream come true. UNIQLO has done much to date to share the pleasure of art with the general public, especially in keeping with our commitment to LifeWear, which is clothing designed to help make everyone’s daily life better. We hope that our partnership with the museum can enable as many people as possible to experience and appreciate the universal beauty of the masterworks in their collections.”

For the program’s first initiative, the Japanese retail company has released a “Musée du Louvre” collection featuring UNIQLO UT tees, sweaters and hoodies for both men and women. Designed by British graphic artist Peter Saville, the garments boast his own take on the museum’s art pieces including Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa. Elsewhere, UNIQLO will launch UT offerings specifically catered to women, which will “focus on the female form as a universal message for diversity and expand its overall collection with new items through 2024.”

Starting this spring, UNIQLO will take over sponsorship of the Free Saturday Nights program and the Mini-Discovery Tour. Head over to the Louvre’s website for more details.
