Anyday Cookware Makes Microwave Cooking Trendy
The David Chang-backed brand introduces stylish, microwave-safe dishes.
Long considered a workhorse of the culinarily inept, the microwave isn’t typically associated with nutritious, high-quality meals. Anyday, the newly launched cookware brand founded by Steph Chen, is changing misconceptions about the kitchen appliance with a range of glass dishes designed to help prepare fast, flavorful and healthy meals in the microwave.
Anyday is launching with a series of four microwaveable dishes — the Large Deep Dish, Medium Deep Dish, Large Shallow Dish and Medium Shallow Dish — constructed with vented lids that allow just the right amount of steam escape. The vessels also oven-safe, making them handy for a variety of uses. Backed by David Chang of Momofuku, Anyday also provides customers with a directory of microwave cook times for various foods and recipes, helping anyone become a microwave chef. The launch of Anyday points to the promise of microwave cooking, which could become a full-fledged food trend. In fact, a Harvard study revealed that cooking with the appliance helps food retain more nutrients compared with other heating methods.
Anyday’s introductory collection ranges from $30 to $120 USD and launches today, March 10, at the Anyday website.
