H.E.R. Releases Stirring Music Video for "Fight for You"
The Golden Globe-nominated track will be featured in upcoming film ‘Judas and the Black Messiah.’
Following her 2021 Golden Globes nomination, H.E.R. has now shared the music video for her uplifting track “Fight for You.” The single, which will be featured in the upcoming movie Judas and the Black Messiah, features references to Black Americans’ fight against racism and violence.
The visual opens with a Black man shot by a white police officer in 1971, as H.E.R. narrates: “Last night they killed one of us. Again. More fuel to a raging fire you can’t pray away. Not with a gun pointed at your back or the ground at your face.” The tragic incident leads to an uprising in 2021 led by the artist and her father from a shoe shop. Accompanied by H.E.R.’s vocals, the video continues by honoring the past and current members of the Black Panther Party, delivering a message of hope for future generations to come.
