Armie Hammer Under Police Investigation for Sexual Assault
A woman has come forward publicly with accounts of Hammer’s violent behavior.
Last month, Armie Hammer was dropped by his talent agency after a series of explicit messages and allegations of abuse were published online by an Instagram account named @houseofeffie. Now, the woman behind the account has come forward publicly.
Identified only by her first name, Effie detailed her experiences with Hammer during a virtual press conference with her lawyer, famed women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred. “On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, during which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall, bruising my face,” Effie said. “During those four hours, I tried to get away and he wouldn’t let me. I thought that he was going to kill me,” she continued.
“We can confirm that Armie Hammer is the main suspect in an alleged sexual assault investigation that was initiated Feb. 3 of this year,” an LAPD spokesperson confirmed to Variety. Hammer’s lawyer has denied all of Effie’s allegations.
