Vivienne Westwood x ASICS Return for Limited-Edition GEL-Kayano 27 LTX Sneakers
Following their collaborative GEL-Kayano 26 shoes.
Having launched their sack-inspired GEL-Kayano 26 back in September 2020, Vivienne Westwood and ASICS have joined forces once again to rework the GEL-Kayano 27 LTX silhouette. The designs take inspiration from Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s controversial “SEX” collection showcased in 1974.
Influenced by provocative wear such as leather bondage, the sneaker comes with a rubber layer on the exterior that is fastened with statement zipper detailing. The translucent matte material reveals the original silhouette on the inside, while Westwood’s signature orb is printed on the laterals. The look is complete with neoprene sock liners, creating the look and feel of rubber tights. The overall design is balanced out with white and black midsoles, along with accent hues splashed onto the outsole for contrast.
