Casetify Shows Us How a Phone Case Can Also Be an NFT
The NFT craze continues to bring us things we don’t really need.
Casetify has announced its very first NFT, a digital artwork that comes with a one-of-one iPhone case. The work appears to be an animation of futuristic machinery materializing from the back of a phone case — an elaborate visual, certainly, but one that begs the question: is this really necessary?
Though the artwork itself is a bit puzzling, potential buyers will likely jump at the opportunity to own the NFT’s accompanying one-of-a-kind phone case. The stainless steel covering is engraved with “Edition 1/1” alongside “Non-Fungible Token + Redeemable Case.” Casetify is auctioning off the digital collectible on Opensea, a leading NFT marketplace. Currently, the highest bid is .24 Ethereum, ringing up at approximately $515 USD.
