Chanel Dresses Its Signature Watches in Rainbow Hues
Sapphires adorn the J12, BOY·FRIEND and more.
With a slew of fashion houses rolling out new timepieces for Watches and Wonders 2021, Chanel has unveiled the newest iterations of its popular watches. Created by the brand’s Watchmaking Studio Director Arnaud Chastaingty, the lineup sees a variety of bold design details perfect for the spring and summer seasons.
The range begins with the J12 ELECTRO DREAM, a limited-edition design featuring a ceramic and 18k white gold case. The timepiece is accentuated with 46 baguette-cut rainbow sapphires on the bezel, along with a crown set with a brilliant-cut diamond. Similarly, the J12 X-Ray Electro Caliber 3.1 comes with rainbow-colored gems on the bezel while the skeleton case reveals the in-house Manufacture movement with manual winding.
Following up on the J12 line is the BOY·FRIEND, which features an 18k beige gold skeleton case with 38 baguette-cut diamonds on the bezel. For a more simple look, the model also arrives in a minimalist iteration with a black skeleton mechanical movement. Elsewhere, the 12 ELECTRO STAR takes center stage with baguette-cut diamonds and rainbow sapphires placed on the case, bezel and dial. Rounding out the range is PREMIÈRE Electro, which is highlighted with a rainbow-colored strap.
