Matthew Williams Goes "BEYOND" Nature in 1017 ALYX 9SM's SS22 Collection
Garments that are made to be both technical and comfortable.
While solidifying his title as creative director at Givenchy, Matthew Williams has now unveiled the Spring/Summer 2022 collection for his label 1017 ALYX 9SM. Pictured through a ’70s-style short film, the presentation is staged on the beach with outfits we’re looking to wear post-lockdown.
The runway opens with a series of tonal looks in tan beige and cream white on a jacket and shorts set as well as a maxi-length dress. Focusing on the idea of comfort, Williams weaves his signature futuristic style into straight-cut trousers, tees and and an oversized zip-up hoodie. Matching the backdrop, coats are paired with colored bikinis and leggings for an elevated feel.
Continuing his focus on innovation, Williams explores new silhouettes with shell leather construction on moto jackets and vests in voluminous shapes. Accompanying the garments are sweats, tees and trousers with distressed jersey motifs achieved through intricate laser and manual treatments. Rounding out the collection, 1017 ALYX 9SM builds on its Mono footwear range, introducing the Mono Slide and Mono Hiking Sneaker that feature the EVA Mono sole.
