Canada Goose Pledges To Stop Using Coyote Fur by 2022
Ceasing the purchase of fur this year.
Canada Goose, known for its fur-trimmed parka outerwear, has announced that it will discontinue the use of real animal fur in its products.
Back in April, the winter apparel brand issued a statement saying it will stop buying fur from trappers and source reclaimed and recycled fur instead. However, after much deliberation, the label will completely end the purchase of fur this year and terminate manufacturing with the material by the end of 2022.
Commenting on whether animal rights activists’ campaigns have contributed to this commitment, Canada Goose’s president Dani Reiss shared with The New York Times: “The fact that we’ve been targeted did not factor into this decision at all. Our focus has always been on making products that deliver exceptional quality, protection from the elements, and perform the way consumers need them to.”
