Here's an On-Foot Look at Aleali May's Air Jordan 4 "Veteran’s Day"
A tribute to the designer’s father, who served in the U.S. Army.
UPDATE (July 12, 2021): Taking inspiration from her father and his service in the U.S. Army, Aleali May has teamed up with Jordan Brand for an Air Jordan 4 dressed in camo print.
Dedicated to Veteran’s Day, the neutral-colored kicks are made using ripstop material with sandy beige tones splashed all over. Details special to this particular design include a detachable diamond patch with Jumpman logos, referencing the Colorado-based 4th Infantry Division Gator Brigade that the designer’s father served in. The shoes are complete with tonal midsoles and a Nike Air tag hanging from the eyestays.
Initially teased last year on Veteran’s Day, the sneakers were initially announced to be unavailable for purchase as it’s a limited-edition tribute to May’s father. We’re unsure why images of the sneakers are surfacing now, but stay tuned as we find out about a potential release date and see more detailed shots below.
ORIGINAL STORY (July 6, 2021): Following up on her Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT, Aleali May is preparing for yet another footwear collaboration with Nike and Jordan Brand. This time around, the designer has reworked the Air Jordan 4 silhouette with neutral tones of beige and khaki.
Contrasting her previous “Califa” design, the AJ4 arrives in camo patterns across the upper in earthy tones. The print is contrasted by caging details as well as the sandy beige shoelaces, midsoles and heels. The tongue tag is highlighted with a detachable Velcro tag featuring embroidered Jumpman logos, and the kicks are rounded out with purple insoles highlighted with “A” branding.
Take a closer look at the upcoming pair down below. Nike has yet to announce an official release date but we’re expecting the silhouette to drop in the coming months.
