Phoebe Philo Is Launching Her Own Fashion Label

Phoebe Philo, the former CELINE designer with a cult-like following, is launching an eponymous fashion label backed by LVMH.
The news follows rumors that surfaced last year. Now, it has been confirmed that Philo’s brand will launch with a focus on clothing and accessories. Industry insiders shared that the creative has been working with a small team in London for almost a year.
“Being in my studio and making once again has been both exciting and incredibly fulfilling. I am very much looking forward to being back in touch with my audience and people everywhere. To be independent, to govern and experiment on my own terms is hugely significant to me,” Philo shared in a statement, reported on by WWD.
Philo’s impact on the fashion world is significant. Joining CELINE in 2009, the revered designer’s shining moments include Juergen Teller-shot campaigns and the launch of it-bags including the Luggage Tote. After her departure from the house 2017, fans created an Instagram account @oldceline, solely dedicated to her time at the label.
