Aleali May x Jordan Brand Reveal First Official Look at "Califia" Collection

Including apparel and a satin-accented Air Jordan 1.

Aleali May and Jordan Brand have officially announced their latest collaboration, a colorful footwear and apparel collection. Named after the fictional queen from 15th novel Las Sergas de Esplandián, the “Califia” collection includes a revamped version of the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT and a selection of matching sportswear.

A ’90s-inspired lookbook set against a school gym reveals a range of covetable apparel. Rendered in a color palette of green, blue and white, separates including a pair of snap-on trackpants and oversized shorts are grown-up takes on drill team uniforms. A cropped T-shirt is layered under a built-in tank top, and an oversized tee is printed with an illustration of Michael Jordan himself. The crown jewel of the collection, an oversized varsity jacket is constructed with leather sleeves boasting a variety of Jordan-branded chenille patches.

May’s AJ1 features a high-cut satin collar and matching satin Swoosh. A leather upper constructed of green and blue paneling is adorned with a chenille version of the Air Jordan emblem, while a deubré built into the tongue of the sneaker is embossed with a capital “A.” Blue laces and a green outsole finish off the sleek style.

The Aleali May x Jordan Brand “Califia” collection releases at Nike SNKRS on April 22. For a closer look at the pieces, watch May’s interview with her former high school drill coach, Shanora Holloway, below.
