Ashley Graham is expecting her second child with husband Justin Ervin. The model announced the news on Instagram, posting an idyllic photo of her baby bump against lush, mountain-top scenery.
“The past year has been full of tiny surprises, big griefs, familiar beginnings and new stories,” Graham wrote in an accompanying caption, referencing the birth of her first child, Isaac, in January 2020. “I’m just beginning to process and celebrate what this next chapter means for us.”
Graham, a fierce proponent of self-love, hasn’t shied away from documenting the realities of motherhood, from new stretch marks to the pain of giving birth. In March last year, she spoke to Vogue about becoming a mom during the pandemic. “Moms need support, and this is an issue that weighs on my heart because I had Isaac just 10 weeks ago. We understand now that hospitals are making decisions to protect everyone’s well-being as they fight COVID-19, but it’s crucial that mothers feel safe when they are in the delivery room,” she expressed, touching on restrictions many hospitals were forced to put in place at the height of the pandemic.
