'The Crown' and 'The Mandalorian' Lead 2021 Emmy Nominations

See the full list of nominees.

Nominations for the 73rd annual Emmy Awards were announced this afternoon, recognizing this year’s standout TV shows, actors and hosts.

Netflix‘s The Crown and Disney+‘s The Mandalorian lead the pack with 24 nominations each, spanning categories including Best Actor and Best Drama Series. Marvel and Disney+’s WandaVision and Hulu‘s The Handmaid’s Tale are considered for a score of categories as well — 23 and 21, respectively — while hits including I May Destroy You, Bridgerton and The Queen’s Gambit also received well deserved nods.

Also notable are the titles and talents that culled sparer nominations. Hulu’s Pen15, a hilarious look at the middle school experience, was nominated for Best Comedy Series and Jean Smart’s work in Hacks, HBO‘s comedy drama about a sharp yet washed up comedian, garnered the Broadway veteran a nod for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Bowen Yang, Saturday Night Live‘s first Asian cast member, made another mark on history with his nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series – he is now the first Chinese American man to be nominated for an Emmy.

The 2021 Emmy Awards will air on September 19 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. Keep scrolling for the full list of nominations.
