Nintendo Debuts New Switch OLED Model
Take a closer look at the seven-inch console here.
Nintendo has officially revealed its brand new Switch OLED model via an announcement trailer. The upcoming console arrives after the Switch Lite, which was released in September 2019.
The Switch OLED model features a seven-inch screen equipped with vivid colors and crisp contrast. Elsewhere, the gaming console comes with a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64GB of storage and an elevated audio system. Additionally, the device can last up to nine hours. On top of the new specs, the OLED model can connect to a TV and be played with the Joy-Con controllers.
“The new Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode,” Doug Bowser, President of Nintendo America, shared in a statement. “With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire – whether it’s Nintendo Switch (OLED model), Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite.”
Available in white and a neon red-blue-black combination, Nintendo’s Switch OLED will release on October 8 for $349.99 USD.
