Nickelodeon's 'The Fairly OddParents' Is Turning Into a Live-Action Series
Your favorite fairy godparents are returning to Dimmsdale.
Nickelodeon Studios and Paramount+ have announced that a live-action reboot of The Fairly OddParents is in the works.
Set years after the original, the 13-episode show will follow the story of Timmy Turner’s cousin, Vivian “Viv” Turner (Audrey Grace Marshall), and her stepbrother, Roy Ragland (Tyler Wladis), who try to figure out life together in Dimmsdale with the help of Cosmo (Daran Norris) and Wanda (Susanne Blakeslee).
“During its run, The Fairly OddParents granted an endless amount of imagination to viewers, where no wish was too big or too small,” Co-Head of Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Live-Action Zack Olin said in a press release. “We are so excited to build upon the ‘Fairly Odd’ universe with this totally unique experience that the new show’s incredibly talented creative team has cooked up for a new generation of kids on Paramount+.”
The first Fairly OddParents series, which centered on 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his fairy godparents, aired in 2001 and ended in 2017 with 172 episodes. The show was one of Nickelodeon’s most popular titles and won dozens of awards during its time.
Production for the reboot has already commenced in Los Angeles. The Fairly OddParents is expected to premiere later this year on Paramount+.
